Discover the AISC 2024 Programme: Addressing Key Educational Challenges in Asia-Pacific International Schools
Sultan Mansouri

The Asia-Pacific International Schools Conference (AISC) 2024 is set to deliver a dynamic programme that empowers educators with the insights and tools necessary to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape.

This year, we welcome over 40 distinguished educators, including teachers, principals, and senior management from international schools across ten countries, including Australia, the Netherlands, the Chinese Mainland, and more.

AISC 2024 will feature more than 40 relevant sessions, exploring four interconnected themes: Adaptive Learning, Critical Pedagogy, Futures Forward Education, and Wellbeing in Education. These themes reflect the dynamic nature of the educational landscape, inviting educators to engage in stimulating discussions, participate in thought-provoking workshops, and attend insightful presentations.

Engage with the Distinguished International Educators

Networking opportunities abound at AISC 2024, enabling participants to connect with international school leaders and educators across the region. Participants can build invaluable professional relationships, share experiences, and collaborate on innovative educational practices.

The conference boasts an impressive lineup of keynote speakers. Professor Jason Lodge, School of Education, The University of Queensland, will present “Adaptive Learning in the Age of AI.” This session will examine the impact of advanced AI technologies on education and underscore the necessity of prioritising adaptive skills over purely technical ones. His session will provide invaluable insights into AI’s role in education, the student’s skills to thrive, and necessary pedagogical changes.

Dr. Elke van Dermijnsbrugge, Lecturer and Researcher in International Teacher Education, NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands, will address “Imagining Alternative Educational Futures in the Present,” proposing that global crises can serve as catalysts for reimagining education, encouraging educators to creatively envision schools that embody alternative futures while emphasising possibility and mutual aid.

Participate in Thought-Provoking Workshops

In addition to keynote sessions, AISC will host a brand-new LEGO® Serious Play® workshops on 11 December 2024. These interactive sessions will enable participants to explore AI’s influence on education and co-create visions for the “school of the future” using LEGO bricks, fostering creativity and collaboration.
